Doing Dallas

Early start off to Dallas, on the road again. Big city, big cars. First stop was the JFK monument. The plaque taught us it represents an open tomb for his spirit to be free.

The Sixth floor museum is where the shots that killed JFK were fired.

Boxes were placed to lean the rifle on, if you look closely you can see a camera inside.... Spies?!

Stevie with Reunion tower in the background as a flock of birds descended on me.

We went to see my old house in Plano.

We stayed with Dad's friends Karen and Carl and their two gorgeous dogs (American Eskies) This is them waiting very patiently for a treat!

We visited the house where the series "Dallas" was filmed. They are filming a new series at the moment with the gardener from desperate housewives in so I will definitely be tuning in....

Stevie was tremendously excited to go flying with Carl, he let Stevie fly the plane and even land it (with bit of help)!! Carl showed him a mid air stall, sounded extremely scary to me but Stevie found it all very cool...I'm just glad it didn't fall out of the sky

After Stevie taking the reigns I was even more pleased with my decision to go shopping with Karen instead for the day!

On the way home we stopped by Fort Worth, the cowboy capital.

Twice a day the cowboys and gals lead their cattle through the streets.

Up close the longhorns are huge, they can grow up to 6 ft in width!

Stevie learnt the hard way not to impersonate the Texans by using "gawd dang!" in conversation....

We tried the local delicacy "calf fries." these are deep fried until golden brown... Crunchy on the outside, soft tender meat in the centre....

Calf testicles....A taste sensation.....

After learning the lingo Stevie decided he could be a real Texan cop. We got him a personalised car.

Soon he was making the town his own...

The locals we grateful for his contributions in the time we were there. To them it felt like much longer than just a day......

After all his hard work Stevie earns his Texan afternoon snack!

Location:Dallas, Texas
